inspired by hwa and dia, a review of what's in my bag!
(i started this a week ago, so this is more like, what was in my bag lol)
normally during school I carry around a backpack! it was especially useful when I was a music major and needed to carry around reed making supplies + and oboe + sheet music along with everything else (ie, laptop) and also be able to bike around campus, but since both lockdown and me changing majors, I'm not carrying that around as regularly. I do miss the ability to carry half a first aid kit and three books though :c
I'm honestly not sure where this bag is from, it was a gift from my mom. it fits like, a surprising amount of stuff though! all of the things mentioned here fit comfortably.

(going left to right)
final note: if anyone has tips on how to auto-resize that image to fit any layout, and not just be a set pixel size, they would be appreciated <3

- notebooks (and superm cd): grey moleskine ruled notebook, dark blue shinola notebook, and the latest superm cd in a jewel case (ty to april!). the moleskine is for when I end up handwriting fic, and the journal is for more organizational/schoolwork/poetry purposes. I've been carrying around this jewel case to play the superm album in the car! it makes for good driving music
- writing and art supplies: there's an improbable amount of pencils in this bag, and a highlighter (from when I was still carrying around a print out that I was taking notes on). don't ask about the box cutter, I don't know either, I think I threw it in there after I finished making a journal (which required cutting bookboard). also a tube of gouache paint I hadn't yet taken out of my bag after going shopping
- book: usually I've got some sort of book with me, right now it's Plainwater by Anne Carson. (note a week later: still have not made any progress on this one in the chaos of driving back home)
- gloves, earrings, beanie: it's pretty cold where I live in college, and fall was really starting to set in. these are e-touch northface gloves which don't stand up to the cold in winter, but are good for fall because I can use my phone in them. the earrings sit in a side pocket of the bag, I had to take them out when wearing my beanie but I'm worried that my piercings will close (not immediately but like, eventually), so I don't take them out of the bag. beanie: it's cold
- portable battery+cord, water bottle, and wallet: all pretty self explanatory
- various health things: included here: a bottle of ibuprofen, a bandaid, carmex (for dry lips! it's one of the best lipbalms I've ever used for living where it's cold), hand cream, hand sanitizer, lactaid, sanitizing wipes, spare mask. all pretty self explanatory
- collection of sweets: i'm the friend who'll have some candy on hand to give to other people. pictured: some hi chew, a chocolate, and this fizzy lemon japanese candy I don't like very much, but it was an impulse purchase
- makeup: I'll be honest with you, this is not normally in my bag, but I put on makeup a week ago (I think it was for a celebration of some sort with my roommate?), put these products in there if I needed a touch up, and forgot to take them back out. super basic products that I got at the grocery store: a powder foundation, concealer, eyeshadow (this one I actually really like, even if I can't remember the brand, the colors are really pigmented), and some lipstick. I actually took it all out of the bag after I took this picture
- keys: keys for my house and my parents' house, plus this really neat bottle opener and two types of screwdrivers. also car keys!
- not pictured: my phone, earphones (they were charging), and whatever snack I happen to have on me at the moment
