The end of winter quarter, spring break, and the beginning of spring! Lots happened. I spent my spring break visiting friends rather than reading or watching anything, so this is rather sparse.

Movies

Ponyo (2008) ★★★★☆
This was cute!! I don't think I watched the whole thing (or at least can't remember the ending), but my friends put it on while we were cooking, and it was fun.

Kuroko's Basketball: Last Game (2017) ★★★☆☆
Em anime renaissance spring?

Listen, this is not a good movie for a variety of reasons, but! AKAASHI. (AND THEY JUST END THE MOVIE WITHOUT ADDRESSING [SPOILERS]??)

Books

I don't think I read any books this month?? Which doesn't feel right, but I don't remember them if they've happened. I'll edit this later if I think of any.

TV

Hunter x Hunter (2011) ep. 23/?
Nostalgic! I like this series. It has weird tests. It has Killua, my poor meow meow. It has tiny children doing inadvisable things. It has Kurapika (trans icon). What more could I want?

I'm doing a rewatch, it hits that spot of "engaging enough to zone out to but not boring" which is perfect.

Soul Eater (2008) ep. 12/51
Also nostalgic! Doing a rewatch because I'm doing a soul eater au (vaguely using the lore but not the plotline, but I still want to be fresh on the lore).

Naruto (2002)
Watched a couple of episodes of this with friends. It's fun!

MISC

We’re Here, We’re Here by K.M. Szpara
Short story about a boy and his boyband and wanting to sing. Fun trans rep. I liked it but I wasn't blown away?

In Progress

Not doing great with the "finishing books" recently, but I think that's partially because I have some assigned reading I need to get to. I can't put that off for these, but I don't want to do it either, so neither gets done. I'll try to get some finished in April.

Currently:
- Yearly rewatch of Nirvana in Fire! 22/54
- Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
- World of Wonders by Aimee Nezhukumatathil
- Oceanic by Aimee Nezhukumatathil
- All You Can Ever Know by Nicole Chung
- The Silent Sea (ep 1)
- Beyond Evil (ep 1)
- Vincenzo (2021), up to ep 10
- She Who Became the Sun by Shelley P Chan, 1/4 through

Picked up again:
-Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers (2/3 through)

Left this at home:
- Halfway Home by Reuben Jonathan Miller
- H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald, 1/2 through

How you can find that what you believed was singular, and needed
to be, is not—
This, too, a trick of light or distance—
the burst cattail no cattail at all, but a stalk
of lush grass weighted with snow.
This, too—how could you.

I lived not to sate my appetite but to crush it.
On my haunches, I craved what could not be seen.
I am desire. I am survival.
I sit under the tree waiting for hunger.
