GUESS WHO GRADUATED COLLEGE!!!!
Related: I haven't watched that much stuff this month.
Nope (2022)
Saw this with a friend! It's really sooooo good I love the parallels/etc in the story. What can I say, a symbol usually gets me. It's just like really well paced? I saw this with a friend, so it wasn't even like super scary. It's definitely atmospheric horror, but I never felt like it was horror for horror's sake, if that makes sense.
I've been reading some books but didn't finish anything this month!
The only thing I finished was Our Flag Means Death, which was spectacular. I laughed so much. Also I love Jim, have we considered that. Sets up really well for S2, so I'm excited. Also watched this with the friend I saw nope with!
Other things I've watched are a little bit of Marie Kondo and The Untamed. I think Marie Kondo is more interesting to me conceptually (I'm taking notes for my own cleaning) than it really is as a show. It's fine, but not something I'd put on if I wasn't trying to figure out how to clean my own stuff. The Untamed is just soooo… I am watching it because my brain is like crunchy leaves after college. Jacks was so right about that. I'm not sure when I'll finish it, but I definitely got through more of it recently than in a while.
The White Vault (Podcast)
This is a horror podcast that I've been following, and I finally listened to the last season! It was very spooky, I really enjoyed how the moral dilemmas came together. There's something that bugs me about the way they present history, but I can't quite pin it down.
This is pretty much the same as last month. I'm watching The Untamed still, as well as reading Portrait of a Thief and A Madness of Angels. I have a list of recs from friends that's half a mile long that I'd like to start before the year is over.

Even in California
all of my friends require touch
to get through winter.
It’s true, I am waiting to be in love
in front of the people I love.
The Sunset and the Purple-Flowered Tree by Joshua Jennifer Espinoza
I have to
laugh until I am crying, make an ocean to land
upon in this sea of flames. Here I am.
Another late-winter afternoon,
the sunset and the purple-flowered tree
trying their best to keep me alive.

Oh, I’m Dying, I’m Dying, by Janine Joseph
Our Quarantine Story by Michelle Whittaker
Listened to significantly less music this month because I am done with schoollllllll. I am doing a funky little dance about it!
In terms of live music, I saw Seventeen, KARD, and Bruce Hornsby. You can guess which one of those shows I saw with my father. All of them were definitely fun!!! Holy shit, KARD live? Maybe I'll draft up a concert recap at the end of the year if anyone is into that.
Key's new album came out and it's fantastic. I think Bound is my favorite track, it's just so much fun.
This album from AURORA came out this year, and I listened to it more this month, very fun!!! Almay let me know there's a new Gang of Youths album, so I'll listen to that soon as well. Tbz dropped "whisper" which was not as much of an ear worm as The Stealer or Maverick, but those are admittedly high standards.
Ateez's new album was not technically an August release, but I listened to it a lot this month. It's SO good I'm learning the ateezes just for this.
I've been listening to more Rico Nasty this month, and discovered Leith Ross for the first time!
Lightning round of other thoughts: Vienna Teng <3, belatedly listening to the Bring Me the Horizon album, Godlight continues to kill me, new Haevn song!!!, discovered Lana Lubany this month, she's incredible, Mr. 8 you are yearning so much.
